How active should you be

Both strength and aerobics exercises can help you stay healthy and fit. The amount of exercise you do really depends on your age.

Adults 19-64:

It is recommended that you engage in 30 to 60 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise 4 to 7 days per week.

Moderate aerobic activities

  • Walking.
  • Swimming.
  • Cycling.
  • Mowing the lawn.
  • Tennis.
  • Hiking.
  • Volleyball.
  • Basketball.

Vigorous activities

  • Running.
  • Rugby.
  • Football.
  • Skipping.
  • Hockey.
  • Gymnastics.
  • Boxing/martial arts.

Muscle strengthening activities

  • Weight lifting.
  • Resistance training.
  • Push-ups and sit-ups.
